'Rock of Love': A Former Producer Says This Contestant Manipulated the Show

In 2007, VH1 introduced the world to Rock of Love With Bret Michaels, a spinoff of the successful dating show Flavor of Love starring rapper Flava Flav. As a reality dating series, Rock of Love had plenty of drama to go around. Recently, a former producer shared news of one woman who tried manipulating the show behind the scenes. Shockingly, it’s not who everyone thinks it is!

Lacey Sculls came off like a ‘b*tch’ for the cameras

Rock of Love‘s debut season featured a lot of big personalities. Perhaps the best player in the game was Lacey Sculls, whose tactic was to target and torture the other women one by one, effectively picking them off.

While Sculls might have come off as an insane person for the cameras, it turns out behind the scenes she was quite normal. “I am curious to know if Lacey was actually that big of a b*itch or if it was just for ratings,” a fan asked on Reddit. A former producer who worked on the Rock of Love series had an answer.

“Lacey was not [a b*tch],” the producer shared. “She was aware it was a game, hints her evil persona. Lacey was that way for ratings, which was inspired by New York from Flavor of Love.”

Heather Chadwell tried to manipulate ‘Rock of Love’ behind the scenes

During Rock of Love Season 1, Heather Chadwell and Jes Rickleff were Michaels’s final two girls. He ultimately chose Rickleff to be his rock of love, leaving Chadwell heartbroken and tattooed with his name on her neck.

Unfortunately, Rickleff and Michaels didn’t last. When Rock of Love Season 2 came about, production invited Chadwell back as a guest. According to the former producer, that was a big mistake.

“Heather wasn’t the greatest castmate to work with, especially when she returned during Season 2 of ROL,” they added. “She was actually supposed to come back into the competition, like New York during Flavor of Love 2. But she honestly p*ssed off producers so much that we were no longer interested in bringing her back.”

Chadwell was allegedly “arrogant” and demanding behind the scenes. “She genuinely thought she had control over the production team LOL,” the producer said. “[Chadwell] was just a nuisance.”

Heather Chadwell stirred the pot on ‘Rock of Love’ Season 2

Rock of Love Season 2 brought Michaels a new group of women to pursue. One of those women was Daisy de la Hoya, who claimed she was there for Michaels but was harboring a secret — she still lived with her ex-boyfriend.

Naturally, this became a plot point on the reality series. Production crews used it to their advantage but became annoyed when Chadwell tried to manipulate situations on the show.

“I understand that Daisy living with her ex was alarming, but Heather only continued to bring it up as a way to jab at Daisy,” the former producer explained, continuing:

In my opinion, Heather was totally and utterly jealous of Daisy from the start.

Do a rewatch of Season 1. See the way Heather makes up a complete lie about Erin (who has a similar look to Daisy) to get her kicked out? Out of jealousy from the first date Erin and Bret had.

She tried to do the same thing with Daisy.

Ironically, Michaels didn’t end up in a lasting relationship with anyone from Rock of Love

Coronavirus R rate drops – but all areas still above crucial 1

BRITAIN'S R rate has dropped this week as cases of the coronavirus start to level off across the country.

The current R value – the number of people an infected person will pass Covid-19 on to – is estimated to be between 1.2 and 1.4.

⚠️ Read our coronavirus live blog for the latest news & updates

It comes after data from the Office for National Statistics revealed that England recorded 35,000 new cases of the virus a day from October 10 to 16.

Last week it was reported that there were an average of 27,900 new cases a day and this figure was a 62 per cent increase from September 25 to October 1.

The R rate has dropped from last week when it sat between 1.3 and 1.5.

R represents the average number of people each Covid-19 positive person goes on to infect.

When the figure is above 1, an outbreak can grow exponentially.

An R number between 1.2 and 1.4 means that on average every 10 people infected will infect between 12 and 14 other people.

Across the English regions – the R rate currently sits between 1.2-1.4.

The South West currently has the highest R rate range and sits between 1.3 to 1.6 and has a growth rate of five to nine per cent each day.

The UK as a whole has a growth rate of three to six per cent each day.

A growth rate between three and six per cent means the number of new infections is growing by three per cent to six per cent every day.

'Restrictions are working'

In the East of England, the R rate is currently between 1.2 and 1.4 and the region has a growth rate of three to six per cent.

Last week London was moved from Tier 1 restrictions to Tier 2 – which means people cannot mix in households if they do not live together.

The R rate in London is currently between 1.1 and 1.3 and the capital has a growth rate of two to five per cent.

The Midlands also has an R rate between 1.1 and 1.3 and the same growth rate as London.

What does R rate mean?

R0, or R nought, refers to the average number of people that one infected person can expect to pass the coronavirus on to.

Scientists use it to predict how far and how fast a disease will spread – and the number can also inform policy decisions about how to contain an outbreak.

For example, if a virus has an R0 of three, it means that every sick person will pass the disease on to three other people if no containment measures are introduced.

It's also worth pointing out that the R0 is a measure of how infectious a disease is, but not how deadly.

Nottingham- which is in the East Midlands is currently one of the most infected places in the country but has so far managed to stay out of Tier 3 – with the local council in ongoing talks with the government.

Nottingham currently has 610.1 infections per 100,000 of the population and sits just behind Knowsley which has 662.9.

The North East and Yorkshire, as well as the North West have the same rate and London and the Midlands.

The South East sits between 1.2 and 1.5 with a growth rate of four to seven percent.

Earlier this week Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the tiers system is working to push the R rate down again – as he again rejected another national lockdown.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday he said the R rate was around half of what it would be if there were no rules and restrictions put on the country.

"There are clear signs that our collections actions are working", he added.

The Crown's Emma Corrin reveals why she 'hates' being asked about 'untouchable' Princess Diana

THE Crown's Emma Corrin has revealed why she 'hates' being asked about 'untouchable' Princess Diana.

The 24-year-old actress makes her debut as the young princess in season four of the Netflix series next month.

  • New on Netflix: What to watch this week

While Emma loved playing Diana in the early years of her relationship and subsequent marriage to Prince Charles, she admitted to Town and Country magazine: "I hate being asked what it’s like to play someone iconic.

"It makes her untouchable—the whole point was that she was touchable.”

Emma had analysed how Diana spoke for weeks with her speech therapist mother before her first audition.

Then it took eight months for director Ben Caron to offer her the part, followed by another six months of preparation before filming began.

However, the fact that Emma was a relative newcomer to acting was what really helped once she was on set.

The show's creator Peter Morgan explained to the publication: "If we had gotten an experienced actress, it would have been an actress acting being nervous.

“Trust me, Emma was nervous on every day that we were filming, [it was] enormously helpful.”

Indeed, Diana had a lot to be nervous about when joining 'The Firm', and her arrival into the Royal household plays out in a number of painful scenes in season four.

Emma said: "The coldness, the traditions, and the expectations of behavior…I don’t think she expected that.

“I think she expected to join a family.”

The Crown season four premieres on Netflix on November 15.

Ryan Fitzpatrick was heartbroken by the Dolphins decision to bench him in favor of Tua Tagovailoa 2 days after leading cheers for the rookie’s NFL debut

  • The Miami Dolphins announced on Tuesday that the team would bench starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in favor of rookie Tua Tagovailoa.
  • Fitzpatrick, who had been playing well for the Dolphins, leading the team to a 3-3 record to start the season including two straight wins, told reporters he was heartbroken by the news.
  • "It broke my heart yesterday," Fitzpatrick said. "It's a tough thing for me to hear and to now have to deal with, but I'm going to do my best with it."
  • On Sunday, Fitzpatrick had cheered on Tagovailoa as he got his first NFL snaps on the Dolphins' final drive of the game.
  • Now Fitzpatrick will have to figure out a way to continue supporting his rookie teammate after having lost the starting job to him.
  • Visit Insider's homepage for more stories.

The Miami Dolphins announced on Tuesday that the team would be moving quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to the bench and promoting rookie Tua Tagovailoa into the starting role in the offense.

The news came as a shock to many in the football world, as Fitzpatrick played solid football to start the year, with the Dolphins 3-3 on the season and just a game out of leading the AFC East.

But it sounds like no one was as shocked to hear the news as Fitzpatrick himself, who discussed the change on a call with reporters on Wednesday. While Fitzpatrick acknowledged that he understood his role as a "placeholder" quarterback for the franchise, it was still devastating to hear the change was coming.

"My heart just hurt all day. It was heartbreaking for me," Fitzpatrick said. "[Dolphins head coach Brian Flores] kind of said what he said … and that's the decision and the direction that the organization is going in.

"We've talked in the past, me and you guys, about how I'm the placeholder. This eventually was going to happen, just a matter of 'when' not 'if.' But it still, it broke my heart yesterday. It's a tough thing for me to hear and to now have to deal with, but I'm going to do my best with it.

Fitzpatrick's disappointment is understandable, as he's been playing well for the Dolphins and been a top-15 quarterback in the NFL by most measures through the first six weeks of the season.

Still, Tagovailoa was a top prospect coming out of college, and the fifth-overall pick in the draft this spring. He's the future of the Dolphins franchise, and it looks as though Miami is ready to get that future started now.

On Sunday, Fitzpatrick led the Dolphins to a 24-0 lead over the Jets — a lead that was so dominant it gave Tagovailoa his first NFL action as he came in to close out the game on Miami's final drive. As Tagovailoa took the field, no one was cheering louder for him than Fitzpatrick.

With the Dolphins making the change official, Fitzpatrick will have to figure out how to be just as supportive of his teammate despite the sudden change in their dynamic.

'The Witches' Film Review: Robert Zemeckis' Roald Dahl Remake Is Creepy But Superfluous

This is no Tim-Burton-does-Willy-Wonka debacle, but neither does it improve on the 1990 version

It’s almost Halloween, which means now is the time to once again celebrate pop culture’s witchy women in all their pointy hatted glory. While films like “Hocus Pocus” and “Practical Magic” are packed with wicked ladies, in our opinion, TV witches still reign supreme. Check out TheWrap’s gallery to find the small screen’s 29 most iconic female spell-casters. Who knows, maybe you’ll get a great idea for this year’s last-minute costume from this list of magical ladies.

ABC/CBS TV Studios/Netflix

  • Samantha Stephens, “Bewitched” – Is there a more legendary TV witch than Samantha Stephens (Elizabeth Montgomery)? Not according to her husband Darrin, who says she’s “one witch in a million.”

    ABC

  • Prue, Piper and Phoebe Halliwell and Paige Matthews, “Charmed” – The Charmed Ones charmed viewers with their sisterly love while fighting the forces of evil for eight seasons, three with eldest sister Prue (Shannen Doherty) and five with half-sister Paige (Rose McGowan), who reunited with her siblings after Prue’s death.

    CBS TV Studios

  • Willow Rosenberg, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” – Best friend to Buffy Summers, Willow (Alyson Hannigan) developed her magical abilities over several seasons, eventually becoming so powerful she almost ended the world once.

    20th Century Fox

  • Bonnie Bennett, “The Vampire Diaries” – Bonnie (Kat Graham) was a truly powerful witch who spent a ton of her time sacrificing her own happiness to help her friends. But by the end of the series, her full potential had been realized, as she managed to save, well, the world.

    Warner Bros

  • Alex Russo, “Wizards of Waverly Place” – By far the best of the Russo siblings, Alex (Selena Gomez) was a fun, confident teenage girl who was the shining star in her family of wizards.

    Disney Channel

  • Sabrina Spellman, “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” – The original teenage witch, Melissa Joan Hart’s version of the Archie Comics character is a staple of ’90s culture.

    ABC

  • Sabrina Spellman, “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” – In 2018, Kiernan Shipka took up the role of Sabrina for Netflix’s darker take on the character and put her own spin on the spunky, half-mortal witch.

    Netflix

  • Prudence Night, “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” – Keeping it in the “Sabrina” universe, the leader of The Weird Sisters and the daughter of Father Blackwood, Prudence (Tati Gabrielle) is a force to be reckoned with in the Church of Night.

    Netflix

  • Melisandre, “Game of Thrones” – The Red Woman’s (Carice van Houten) prophecies weren’t always right, causing more than a few problems for our heroes. But she did bring Jon Snow back from the dead and helped Arya kill the Night King, so she made up for all that in the end.

    HBO

  • Regina/The Evil Queen, “Once Upon a Time” – Regina (Lana Parrilla) was a wicked witch, but by the time the ABC fantasy series came to a close, she had more than redeemed herself for all her previous wrongdoings and got to enjoy a happy ending. Plus, no one said being evil would prevent you from making this list. In fact, some of our favorite TV witches were bad.

    ABC

  • Rita Repulsa, “Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers” – Speaking of baddies, Rita Repulsa (Machiko Soga) was a major thorn in the side of the Power Rangers and probably appeared in the nightmares of many ’90s children. Seriously, that cackle is seared into our brains.

    Saban Entertainment

  • Witchiepoo, “H.R. Pufnstuf” – Another kids’ show with another wicked witch who managed to steal our hearts with her goofy antics.

    NBC

  • Margo Hanson, “The Magicians” – A high-spirited magician, Margo (Summer Bishil) is known for her gossiping, competitive nature and drama, drama, drama.

    Syfy

  • Morticia Addams, “The Addams Family” – Before Anjelica Huston took on the role for the big screen, Carolyn Jones portrayed the character in the 1960s TV series, giving us a Gothic goddess to aspire to.

    ABC

  • Fiona Goode, “American Horror Story: Coven” – Possibly Jessica Lange’s greatest role of all time and definitely her best “American Horror Story” character due to her fierce wardrobe and even fiercer attitude toward keeping her title as the coven’s Supreme Witch. Too bad she was damned to hell in the end.

    FX

  • Marie Laveau, “American Horror Story” – While we’re in the “AHS,” fam Angela Bassett’s voodoo queen was a fan-favorite character from “Coven” (Season 3) who made a badass return on last year’s crossover installment, “Apocalypse.”

    FX

  • Tabitha Lenox, “Passions” – Tabitha (Juliet Mills) never got her revenge on all of Harmony, but we still remember her as the greatest character on the weirdest soap opera there ever was.

    NBC

  • Angelique Collins, “Dark Shadows” – One of the darkest characters on “Dark Shadows,” Angelique’s (Lara Parker) love-hate relationship with Barnabas Collins fueled the majority of the show’s wild plot.

    ABC

  • Marge Simpson, Patty and Selma Bouvier, “The Simpsons,” “Treehouse Of Horror VIII” – Of all “The Simpsons” Halloween specials, this one is our favorite, since it gave us a green Marge and her wicked sisters.

    Fox

  • Queenie, “American Horror Story” – A human voodoo doll, Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe) had one of the most unique powers in her coven.

    FX

  • Rowena, “Supernatural” – Even though Rowena (Ruth Connell) has screwed Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) over more times than they’ve died (long story) they forgive her, and we forgive her, over and over because she’s just so fun. And helpful, too — sometimes.

    The CW

  • Adalind Schade, “Grimm” – Claire Coffee’s Hexenbiest had a haunting face and a killer personality.

    NBC

  • Elizabeth Woodville, “The White Queen” – It was rumored that Elizabeth Woodville practiced witchcraft and Rebecca Ferguson’s portrayal of the White Queen on the BBC One/Starz series certainly upped our suspicions about the royal’s magical abilities.

    BBC One/Starz

  • Fiji Cavanaugh, “Midnight, Texas” – One of the most memorable characters from the short-lived NBC drama, Fiji (Parisa Fitz-Henley) is a fun, free spirit if ever there was one.

    NBC

  • Multiple Sabrinas, actually

It’s almost Halloween, which means now is the time to once again celebrate pop culture’s witchy women in all their pointy hatted glory. While films like “Hocus Pocus” and “Practical Magic” are packed with wicked ladies, in our opinion, TV witches still reign supreme. RHONY Alum Jules Wainstein Finalizes Divorce with Ex Michael 4 Years After Announcing Split

Jules Wainstein has officially ended her marriage.

The Real Housewives of New York City alum, 39, finalized her divorce with ex Michael Wainstein on Monday, PEOPLE can confirm.

"Michael is ecstatic to have this long process finished," Morghan Richardson, an attorney for Michael, told PEOPLE in a statement on Tuesday. "It took 4 years and he's looking forward to moving on."

Jules' attorney, Allen Mayefsky, did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

Jules joined RHONY in its eighth season, but left the franchise after a single season to focus on her children amid her divorce.

She had been married to Michael — with whom she shares son Jagger and daughter Rio — for eight years when she announced her split from the investment banker in June 2016 amid rumors of his infidelity, which he denied.

"Jules and her husband have split over his infidelity," a rep for Jules told PEOPLE at the time. "In last night’s episode there were signs. Jules is doing great despite the news. She is taking care of her children and working hard on her brand, Modern Alkeme. She is a survivor and has many people around her for support."

Shortly following news of the divorce, Jules called the police to their Manhattan apartment and was granted a temporary restraining order against Michael.

Earlier this year, Jules was arrested in Florida and booked on a charge of battery after allegedly attacking Michael in front of their children.

A source previously told PEOPLE that Jules and Michael got into a verbal dispute during a custody exchange in a parking lot. Jules then allegedly approached Michael’s car with a baseball bat, which she used to damage the back of the vehicle. She also allegedly licked his car window and punched Michael in the face.

Jules, who previously pled not guilty to the battery charge, previously said that she was staying in Florida for the rest of her divorce proceedings.

"Until my divorce is over, I’m temporarily living in Boca at my parents," she told BravoTV.com last year. "We’ll be there until things settle, and then hopefully we’ll move back soon."

According to Page Six, who first reported on news of Jules and Michael finalizing their divorce, the former couple are still hashing out child custody issues.

Education Minister Nick Gibb rules out cancelling school holidays

Education Minister Nick Gibb rules out cancelling school holidays to help children catch up on learning as he says teachers ‘need a break’ after ‘working phenomenally hard’ during coronavirus crisis

    • Nick Gibb said it is ‘not the intention currently to erode the school holidays’
    • There have been calls for holidays to be shortened to help students catch up
    • Education Minister said teachers ‘need a break’ because of coronavirus crisis

Education Minister Nick Gibb today ruled out cancelling school holidays to help pupils catch up on learning as he said teachers ‘need a break’.

The Government has faced calls to shorten or even scrap holidays in the coming months in order to give students more time in the classroom after six months of disruption caused by the coronavirus crisis.

But Mr Gibb told the Education Select Committee that it is ‘not the intention currently to erode the school holidays’.

He said time off would allow children to do their own studying while also giving teachers the opportunity to recharge their batteries after ‘working phenomenally hard over this period’.

Nick Gibb today ruled out cancelling school holidays to give students more time to catch up on learning

The chairman of the committee, Tory MP Robert Halfon, asked Mr Gibb if he believed school holidays should be cut to ensure students can catch up.

The minister replied: ‘No, I don’t. Those holidays are necessary for the students to do their own work and to study.

‘Also teachers have been working phenomenally hard over this period and they do also need a break during those school holidays.

‘It is not the intention currently to erode the school holidays.’

The Government is adamant that exams will go ahead in 2021 after the closure of schools meant they had to be scrapped this year.

But there are concerns that ongoing disruption caused by localised outbreaks of Covid-19 could harm pupils’ preparations.

Mr Gibb told the committee: ‘The policy is that we expect schools to sit exams, we expect all students in year 11 and year 13 who are studying for exams to take those exams.

‘We have been working very closely with Ofqual and the exam boards, certainly to begin with on the timing issue and we have already announced there will be a three week delay to the timing so they will finish on July 2 and start after the May bank holiday half-term.

The Government is adamant that pupils will sit exams next year after school closures meant this year’s had to be scrapped

‘That means a constrained marking time and that is an issue that we are dealing with with exam boards and we are working through other contingencies now with the exam boards.’

Asked whether using teacher predicted grades could be an option if exams have to be cancelled again, Mr Gibb said: ‘I have been very clear that we want students to take exams and we are looking at contingencies about what happens in worst case scenarios.’

The Government will be desperate to avoid a repeat of the exam results debacle seen this summer after a flawed algorithm used to calculate grades prompted a furious backlash and embarrassing U-turn.

George Clooney Almost Played Ryan Gosling’s Character In ‘The Notebook’

Gonna imagine Julia Roberts would have played the Allie to his Noah.

Noah and Allie’s Notebook love story almost looked very different. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, George Clooney revealed he almost played Noah in the 2004 movie, which ultimately starred Ryan Gosling alongside Rachel McAdams. "I was going to do a movie years ago called The Notebook, that Ryan Gosling actually did, and I was going to do it with Paul Newman," Clooney told EW. "I was playing the flashback and Paul Newman was the old guy." He didn’t comment on who may have played the Allie to his Noah, but let’s just imagine it was Julia Roberts.

Clooney added that this all happened about 10 years before The Notebook was actually made (The book the film is based on was published in 1996). Initially, he and Newman were excited to work together, saying that the experience would be “funny.” However, as Clooney confirmed during a virtual interview at the 64th BFI London Film Festival, he dropped out because he got intimidated after going home and watching several of Newman’s famous films. “He’s one of the handsomest guys you’ve ever seen,” Clooney said, per Deadline.

"We were sitting there one day and I was looking at him and I go, ‘I can’t do this movie, Paul,’" Clooney continued. "He was like. ‘Why?’ I was like, ‘Because everybody knows what you look like at 30 years old. You got blue eyes, I got brown eyes. You’re too famous at 30 for me to be playing you at 30, it’s never gonna work.’ And he’s like, ‘I guess you’re right.’"

James Garner and Gena Rowlands instead played the older versions of Noah and Allie. But oh, what could have been.

‘You not going to see the end of Trump’: Steve Bannon says President Trump will run again in 2024 if he loses the upcoming election

    • Even if he fails to win a second White House term, Steve Bannon has insisted, ‘You’re not going to see the end of Donald Trump’
    • Bannon, who was recently arrested for federal money-laundering, added that he believed the November 3 election was ‘closer than is being reported’
    • Though the Trump 2016 campaign CEO says ‘Trump will win on election day’
    • Bannon also predicted the election result will go to the Supreme Court and may even be conferred to the House of Representative in January

Former White House Strategist Steve Bannon says Donald Trump will run for re-election in 2024 if he loses the presidential race to Joe Biden next month.

Even if he fails to win a second White House term, Bannon told The Australian, ‘You’re not going to see the end of Donald Trump.’

Bannon, who was recently arrested for federal money-laundering and fraud, added that he believed the November 3 election was ‘closer than is being reported’, and said ‘Trump will win on election day’.

‘I’ll make this prediction right now: if for any reason the election is stolen from or in some sort of way Joe Biden is declared the winner, Trump will announce he’s going to run for re-election in 2024,’ he told the outlet.

Bannon also predicted the election result will go to the Supreme Court and may even be conferred to the House of Representative in January, saying the outcome will be contentious and ‘won’t be settled anytime soon’.

Even if he fails to win a second White House term, Bannon told The Australian , ‘You’re not going to see the end of Donald Trump’

Bannon’s latest comments cast a slightly more pessimistic tone to remarks made just days ago during a speech in front of the Young Republican Federation, in which he resolutely stated that not only will Trump win on November 3, but he’ll secure victory very early.

‘At 10 o’clock or 11 o’clock… on November 3, Donald J. Trump is going to walk into the Oval Office, and he may hit a tweet before he goes in there… and he’s going to sit there, having won Ohio, and being up in Pennsylvania and Florida, and he’s going to say, “Hey, game’s over”, Bannon, Trump’s 2016 campaign CEO, told the crowd.

‘The elites are traumatized. They do not want to go stand in line and vote. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a game-changer,’ Bannon continued. ‘It [the decisive factor] is what electorate shows up to vote on a vote that can be certified. That’s a vote that counts. And right now, what they [Trump critics] don’t want to talk about, is Donald J. Trump leads on people who are actually going to show up and vote on November 3, by 21 percent.’

Speaking to the Australian, Bannon also claimed that the lawyers acting for Joe Biden’s son Hunter have made numerous attempts to retrieve his computer hard-drive that’s now at the center of an FBI probe.

Such extensive efforts reportedly include sending legal letters to the owner of a Delaware repair shop where the Democratic presidential candidate’s son had reportedly dropped off his laptop to be serviced in 2019.

Last week, the New York Post published emails and photographs that the outlet claimed were contained on a laptop owned by Hunter Biden, which he apparently never collected from the repair store.

The hard drive was retrieved by a third-party from the shop owner in January and then sent to Giuliani. Giuliani seemingly then sat on the information for months, before releasing it to the Post just weeks before the election.

The messages suggested that Hunter Biden had arranged for a top executive at a Ukrainian energy firm, of which Hunter was on the board of directors, to meet his father in person, when he was vice-president and in charge of US policy with Ukraine.

In the emails published by the Post, Biden is shown pursuing a lucrative deal involving China’s largest private energy company, saying in one message that the proposed deal would be ‘interesting for me and my family’, before discussing remuneration packages.

Bannon, who alerted the Post to the laptop’s existence, claimed that Biden’s lawyers contacted Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s attorney, hours before the emails were published in a last-ditch effort to retrieve Hunter’s alleged hard-drive.

‘His lawyer, [George] Mesires from Chicago, one of the top lawyers in the country, emailed us. He called the repair shop, he sent us an email, he sent the repair shop an email saying Hunter dropped these off, he forgot to pick them up. That’s an email,’ Bannon told the Australian.

‘In addition, we haven’t released this, Hunter Biden’s lawyer has come to us both with phone calls and with emails saying I’ve got to get the hard-drive back. This is not some Russian intelligence operation, they’ve admitted it’s their hard-drive.

‘It was the night before we came out with the first story, I think, because the NY Post went to them for comment … they panicked. One lawyer started calling around and sent the emails.’

Bannon reiterated his claim that Biden’s lawyer had also sent legal notices to the owner of the repair shop seeking return of the hard-drive.

‘We’re breaking news here. He actually in a panic called … because Hunter when he dropped it off, there was two or three of these shops in Wilmington. They called around and he figured out it might be this guy. He called him and when the guy said I can’t remember, I’m going back to my shop, he sent a couple of emails in a panic saying ‘I’ve got to get my hands on this right away.’

Bannon, who said he was contacted by Giuliani in late August to help with media strategy for the emails, said he has been holding on to the legal letters and waiting to use them if the Biden camp tried to deny the laptop belonged to Hunter.

‘We haven’t released that yet. We’re holding that back to make sure if they walk into the trap, we’re just going to drop it on them,’ he said.

‘My training under Andrew Breitbart was put it out, let them lie and then bang, drop them on the lie, let them lie some more, drop it again. We have the emails from the lawyer, if we need to release them, we’ll release them.’

The FBI is reportedly conducting an investigation into whether the allegations are part of a Russian disinformation campaign against the Biden campaign, though the agency has refused to speak publicly on the matter.

FBI Director Christopher Wray has warned that Russia is trying to ‘denigrate’ Biden ahead of the election and damage his chances of unseating Trump.

Bannon was arrested and charged in August with defrauding donors to a private fund-raising effort called We Build the Wall, which was intended to bolster the president’s signature initiative along the Mexican border.

The fund-raising effort collected more than $25 million, and prosecutors say Bannon used nearly $1 million of it for personal expenses.

Bannon pleaded not guilty to the charges on August 20.
